Is PDF-I-LOVE free?

Yes. Every tool is free to use, with no account and no watermark on your files. Pro isn’t on sale yet; until it is, there is no daily limit.

Do my files get uploaded?

For most tools, no. 15 of our 21 tools run entirely in your browser, so the file never leaves your device. The other 6 (Compress PDF, Word to PDF, Excel to PDF, PowerPoint to PDF, PDF to Word and OCR PDF) need our server in Germany: the file is uploaded over an encrypted connection and deleted within 1 hour. Every tool page says which kind it is.

Do I need an account?

No. You can use every tool without signing up. Sign-in exists only for the optional Pro plan.

Will the PDFs work in other apps?

Yes. PDF is an open standard (published by ISO as ISO 32000-2), and the files you save are ordinary PDFs that open in any PDF reader, browser or printer.
